Running a company that deals in music, clothing, perfume, TV programming and other products can sometimes feel overwhelming, singer-actress-entrepreneur Jennifer Lopez tells Lee Cowan in an interview for CBSSUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD to be broadcast May 19, 2013(9:00 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. "Of course, it's overwhelming sometimes," Lopez tells Cowan. "And, yes, you're right, at times I'm like, 'Whoa, what am I taking on?' I'm taking on so much. It's so overwhelming. But I feel like life is overwhelming. And you can't be afraid of that."

Lopez has turned a singing and acting career into a multi-product corporation, which earned her the top spot on Forbes' Most Powerful Celebrities list last year.
Part of her empire is a 20-plus year deal to design clothes for the department store Kohl's, a deal so large she's reluctant to discuss publicly. "With seven-year options, I don't know, who likes to talk about this stuff? Not me," she tells Cowan. "I just like to play clothes, you know what I mean. Like, let's design the clothes and let's have fun. And what colors are we going to use? And ooh, I think you should do this shape. You know, that's my fun part."

Lopez says she likes to design things. She also says she can Bounce between designer and entertainer easily. "I can be an artist when I have to be an artist," she says. "But I can also, you know, be sensible and be a business person and kind of go by the numbers when I have to, you know?"

She also admits she's a workaholic, though doesn't see it as a dirty word. "I think we're supposed to work a lot in this life, you know what I mean, that's what it's about," she tells Cowan. "It's about being productive in this life and doing something with your life and being proud of what you're doing with your life that make you, you know, kind of an interesting and fulfilled person at the end of the day."

There is already plenty of discussion surrounding ABC Family’s upcoming drama series, The Fosters. The one-hour show produced by Jennifer Lopez is essentially about a lesbian couple raising biological and adopted children together. This comedy-drama portrays diversity and equality in a unique way, and it elevates the foster parenting and adoption image to a new level.

The Foster family brings a new dynamic to television, with its multiethnic combination of biological and adoptive children as well as the relationship of the biracial parents. There is an authenticity that has been missing in many other family-based programs. The depth of the relationships and the compelling storyline may open the minds of the show’s audience.

Jennifer Lopez produces an interesting and realistic storyline should pave the way for long-term value. The show revolves around Lena and Stef, a lesbian couple co-parenting adopted twins and Stef’s biological son. Lena is passionate about saving children and convinces Stef to take on a fourth charge. Callie, the troubled teen taken in by the Fosters, brings more drama than the family expected.

The fact that there is a stigma attached to the Foster family makes this program and contributions by Jennifer Lopez worthwhile. It portrays various social issues with reverence and shows the family working together to overcome obstacles. Because the Fosters are atypical, there is a strong likelihood of struggles arising. There may be plenty of lessons learned, and the results could bode well for proponents of diverse foster families.

Some adoptive children have identity issues, and The Fosters handles the subject matter delicately. Tough situations are coped with rather than avoided. Each member of the household is encouraged to share his or her emotions and experiences, which is ideal for a family-themed show. The love and closeness between parents, children and siblings is evident even with the daily struggles.

Entertainers-businesswomen Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson are among the 10 "Most Powerful Moms of 2013" as ranked by Working Mother magazine.

Other media celebrities in the publication's alphabetical list of its top 50 include actresses Tina Fey, Angelina Jolie, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Melissa McCarthy and Gwyneth Paltrow; singers Mariah Carey and Gwen Stefani; newswoman Katie Couric; and model Gisele Bündchen.

The magazine says it selected women who "have exhibited the strength to overcome tremendous obstacles, the insight to innovate and inspire, and the passion and courage to go against the grain to change the lives of others for the better." And they had to have at least one child under age 18.

Beyoncé, who gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy last year, was lauded for performing at President Obama's second inauguration and at Super Bowl halftime, releasing a self-produced HBO documentary as well as a new album, and scoring a multimillion-dollar Pepsi endorsement.

Lopez, who has 5-year-old twins Max and Emme, was an "American Idol" judge this year and co-chairwoman of the charitable Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action's Global Mom Relay, which works to bring medical access to mothers in the developing world. Pregnant "Fashion Star" mentor Simpson, mother of a daughter Maxwell, 1, has a $20 million fashion line.

The 43-year-old singer feared for her life when she was whisked away to safety after a pistol was fired only 400 yards from the set of her new music video 'Live It Up'.

Jennifer was in the middle of being interviewed at Beach Park in Fort Lauderdale in Florida during the incident. Journalist Rob Marciano, who was chatting to the star when the shots were fired, wrote on Twitter: ''BREAKING: Gunshots fired on Fort Lauderdale Beach DURING my JLo interview. No Kidding. Security scrambled her away. (sic)''

He later added: ''Can hear & see ambulances converging ~400 yards down the street. Police confirming: 'shots fired. No one hit' Whew (sic).'' DeAnna Greenlaw, a spokeswoman of the Fort Lauderdale police department, confirmed: ''At around 7:30 PM, police received a report that shots were fired in a parking lot near the northern end of the park located at 800 Seabreeze Boulevard''

The brunette beauty reportedly continued to film her new music video after the incident, which features Pitbull, but is still yet to comment on the incident.

Age doesn't appear to be affecting J-Lo as she looks practically the same as she did ten years ago, with just small changes to her hair here and there.

Jennifer will be joining Beyonce in headlining the summer gig Sound of Change Live at Twickenham Stadium that will see all of the proceeds benefiting up to 120 projects that aim to help women in over 70 countries.

Despite the 12 year age gap between the two of the biggest female artists in the world, their faces are yet to display it as J-Lo looks near enough exactly the same age as 31-year-old Beyonce. Bey's fast-paced, energetic performance may threaten J-Lo slightly.

Maybe then she will show her age!

There's nothing small about the Billboard Music Awards -- but it will have Lil Wayne. Weezy will join several new additions to the May 19 event, including labelmate Nicki Minaj and stars including Jennifer Lopez, Chris Brown, Ed Sheeran, Akon, Ne-Yo, David Guetta and "I Love It" breakthrough act Icona Pop.

Wayne and Minaj will pair for a performance, while Ne-Yo and Akon will crash the turntables with Guetta.

The Las Vegas show will air on ABC at 8 EDT, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena. 30 Rock alum Tracy Morgan will host, with Don Mischer producing.

The star-studded show has previously announced performances including Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez, the Band Perry, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kacey Musgraves and Prince, with the latter set to receive the Billboard Icon Award.

Bieber, Swift and Mars also are vying for the Milestone Award, presented by Chevrolet, which is a fan-driven honor that one voter will get to present at the show alongside Cee Lo Green.

Swift, fun. and Maroon 5 top the finalists at the 2013 awards, with each included in 11 categories. Rihanna competes in 10 categories, including top artist against Swift, Maroon 5, Bieber and One Direction, while a pair of younger artists -- Carly Rae Jepsen and 1D -- are finalists in nine and eight categories, respectively.

Billboard Music Awards finalists were based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. These measurements were tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound.

The former judge will return to perform on the finale next month, a source exclusively tells me. No word yet if Lopez will be belting out a tune—and shaking her iconic booty—on the first or second night of the two-part finale airing May 15 and 16. Rumors that J.Lo was in talks to perform began circulating last week after it was reported that Idol producers tried hatching a plan to bring her back as a judge. A supposed plan that, if you hadn't heard, included giving either Mariah Carey or Nicki Minaj (or both of them) the boot. "There will definitely be changes to the judging panel for next season," a source told E! News last week. "Fox thought the Nicki-Mariah contrast would make for ratings, but there is concern it is like nails on [a] chalkboard for middle-America viewers."

But a rep for Idol shot down any chatter about changes at the judges' table, saying, "This is just another ridiculous Idol judge rumor, likely started by talks of Jennifer performing on the finale."

When Chris Brown and Jennifer Lopez first got collaboration rumors swirling last month when they were photographed in the studio together, no one really knew what it would sound like when those two musical worlds collided. But, now J.Lo is dishing about what she's created with the "Fine China" singer. And, by her account, they are kicking it old school. "Yes, when we were in the studio, writing songs and just getting that whole 'Jenny from the Block' flavor back," she told "Extra" about sonically time-traveling back to 2002 for this release. "We actually worked on a bunch of ideas... and we talked about doing a duet together for his album." She added, "Every time I get a new song I'm like, 'Oh, that could be a new title for the album.'"

Earlier this month, Brown spoke to MTV News about getting the opportunity to work with the dancefloor diva, noting songwriting is a big part of his 10-year plan. "I think being able to write for great artists — J.Lo, collaborating, working on her album — and doing stuff that I never thought possible," he said, adding, "Everything that I do creatively, whether it be skating, anything that I try to put my hands onto, hopefully [I'm] excelling in it and, you know, making people see the light at the end of the tunnel."

When he sat down with Ryan Seacrest just weeks before, Brown teased that in addition to working on her follow-up to 2011's Love?, he's trying to lock her down for his 2013 release, X. "We actually are collaborating," he said. "I'm trying to get her on my album, I have a couple songs that would be incredible for her to feature on. But as for now, I'm just in the studio writing for her album and collaborating on new stuff and trying to give her some party music and fun stuff."

Dutch producer Afrojack has revealed his is currently working in the studio with Jennifer Lopez and Wiz Khalifa. Nick van de Wall posted a picture of himself with Jennifer Lopez and Wiz Khalifa on Twitter, confirming that that he is working in the studio with the chart topping stars. He also dropped the news that "new stuff was coming", however nothing has been confirmed for his debut album as yet. With recent productions for both rapper Pitbull and singer Chris Brown, and his debut artist album on the way, 2013 looks set to be a hit parade for Afrojack.

Tyler Posey walked the stage of the American Latino Media Arts Awards (ALMA) Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California and picked up the honor for Favorite TV actor for his work on Teen Wolf on Friday night. The entertainer who is known by many youngsters for his character on television has been in the business for a long time. In fact so long he once was Jennifer Lopez’s son in Maid in Manhattan. On the red carpet he revealed he hasn’t talked to the entertainer in year. “It was awesome,” said Tyler Posey who was sharing the experience of working with Jennifer Lopez. “I haven’t been in touch. I haven’t seen her in eleven years.”

The actor just fell out of touch after he got involved in his career and she worked on her. While the opportunity to find her again might come up in the future, he hasn’t forgotten what she taught him. Dishing that she gave him pointers that later in his career he used, the entertainer was grateful to have Jennifer Lopez as part of his journey in show business.

Star of world music and cinema, Jennifer Lopez returned to the JW Marriott Absheron Hotel after rehearsal at the Tofig Bahramov Stadium.

She did not make any press statement and posed for photographs.

On Sept. 22, Jennifer Lopez will perform at the opening ceremony of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup at the Tofig Bahramov Stadium. The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup will be held in Azerbaijan from Sept.22 to Oct.13. Five stadiums in Baku and one in Lankaran have been officially announced as places to host the championship.

On Sept.23 the star's concert will be held at the "Crystal Hall", which hosted Eurovision Song Contest 2012. The concert is organized by "Omnikomo Music Group", representative of "Universal Music Group" in Azerbaijan. It should be noted that famous Azerbaijani singer and composer Emin Agalarov will perform with Jennifer Lopez at a concert at the "Crystal Hall" on Sept.23.

Some 65 trucks, five aircrafts and about 500 employees are involved for the preparation for this grand concert. The world-famous signer is preparing an exclusive show especially for Baku audience. About 60 members of Lopez's team will arrive with her in Baku from Los Angeles. Jennifer Lopez's concert in Baku will be also dedicated to fight against piracy in music industry.
