Jennifer Lopez has parted ways with her publicist Mark Young after about three years.
The newly reinstated American Idol judge has signed with Sunshine Sachs, where she will be repped by Ken Sunshine, Keleigh Thomas Morgan and Whitney Tancred.
The news comes just over a week after Fox officially confirmed that Lopez will return to the Idol panel after taking a season off.
It also comes two months after Lopez was criticized by the Human Rights Foundation and others for performing a private concert in Turkmenistan, whose government has been accused of restricting free speech and jailing political opponents. Lopez came under scrutiny after singing "Happy Birthday" to President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov at the event.
Young, founder and president of public relations firm The Fame Factory, handled the media crisis for Lopez. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Lopez's decision to part ways with Young was unrelated to that PR nightmare and instead was due to Sunshine Sachs' presence in New York and Los Angeles and experience in such areas as branding and corporate communications as well as personal publicity. Lopez is the rare talent active in film, television, music, endorsements and several other endeavors.
Idol began filming its 13th season last week. Lopez joins Harry Connick Jr. and returning judge Keith Urban (longtime judge Randy Jackson is segueing into a mentor role).

Reports claimed that Swift was turned off by Lopez's diva behavior after she appeared at Swift's final concert of her Red Tour in Los Angeles. The two sang "Jenny from the Block," to the delight of thousands of fans.

The actress and singer is set to star in the upcoming thriller “The Boy Next Door” as a newly separated mother who strikes up a romance with a teenage boy, Variety reports.
The micro-budget movie will be produced by Jason Blum (“The Purge,” “Paranormal Activity”) and is based on a script by Barbara Curry. Rob Cohen (“xXx”) is currently in talks to direct the film.
According to the entertainment magazine, Lopez’s character begins an affair with one of her son’s close friends, but runs into trouble after she attempts to end the relationship.
In the past, the 44-year-old mogul and superstar has been the target of criticism for her own real life relationship with her 26-year-old beau Casper Smart, whom she has dated since October 2011.
Lopez recently spoke with Cosmo about Smart and assured the magazine that their relationship was strong despite the 18-year age difference.
"For me, it's about having a great partner to walk this life with," Lopez told Cosmopolitan for the magazine's October 2013 issue. "I have my own high standards for what I want in a partner and how I want to be treated. I bring a lot to the table. Rapper Pitbull has taken his blend of American pop music fused with Latin beats from the clubs of Miami to international pop charts, but he now is crossing into film with his first acting role as an animated character in the upcoming movie, "Epic."
Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Perez, has become a staple in the pop music field with lively dance-floor tracks including recent chart hits "Feel This Moment" with Christina Aguilera and "Live it Up" with Jennifer Lopez.
The rapper, 32, plays street-smart frog Bufo in "Epic," due to be released on Friday and which explores a secret universe where the natural world is battling evil forces.
Pitbull talked to Reuters about his film debut, working with Lopez and the origins of his numerous nicknames.
Q: What do you make of this whole animation world you got a chance to work in?
A: Before I didn't understand what it meant to put a voice to animation and see it come to life. But I'm always game for trying new things. I love how those artists could see my voice on the character before it was even drawn up.
Q: How did the animators bring your influence to the character of Bufo the frog? Did they capture your essence?
A: They captured a piece of my essence, absolutely. The suits, the business/hustler, knowing how to navigate his way through the good and bad. Bufo knows how to play the middle. It's business, not personal for him. I think they captured about 75 percent of my essence. The gestures, the hand movements, the way he walks - I think they watched me a lot in the studio when I was there.
Q: Many musical artists have made their way to film. Why haven't you transitioned sooner?
A: It's all about timing. I've had projects on the table but I didn't have the time to do them. This caught me at the right time ... I hope there's a sequel because I would love to see more of Bufo in number two. I have a lot of good ideas for them, ideas that would capture the rest of that 25 percent of the essence they may have missed.
Q: Your stage moniker 'Pitbull' is named after a dog that tends to get a lot of bad press unfortunately.
A: Pitbulls are misunderstood and that's the same thing with me when I first came into the music business. Being Cuban-American made me politically incorrect. My whole life was trying to make people understand that we all come from the same place. It's the same with the dog. The pitbull is a very loyal, very loving dog that doesn't understand the concept of losing. I believe in fighting hard for what you believe in and never giving up.
Q: How important is your Cuban heritage?
A: It's very important. I'm Cuban-American, first generation. The Latin culture is everything. But I'm very careful to not let that box me in. I want to represent (my heritage) and I'm proud of who I am, but it's about letting others know that we are just like everybody else. We don't want people to judge us, we want people to understand us, to see that we've gone through the same things everybody else has gone through and suffered the same struggles.
Q: What were some of the pivotal moments in your career that really changed things for you?
A: The record that took it global was "I Know You Want Me" (in 2009). Before that, I lived in the clubs and in the streets as far as my music. But that song took it to the next level. "Give Me Everything" (in 2011) was a turning point. This record coming out (on May 28) called "Outta Nowhere" will be another turning point I think.
Q: How so?
A: It's a different side of me. It's going to show everything that we've been speaking about here - motivation, believing in yourself, not giving up. With this record, I wanted to come out of nowhere, which is why the name is perfect.
Q: "Live It Up" is your third collaboration with Jennifer Lopez, following "On The Floor" and "Dance Again." What's your partnership like?
A: Jennifer is a hard worker, very professional, gorgeous and she's a walking empire. Anytime I'm around her, I'm watching, learning, studying. It's a natural combination, like a student and teacher. I'm a student all day. I think it would be an honor for Jennifer to watch me grow and say, ‘That kid did learn.'
Q: With all your recent success, do you feel like you've gotten the respect you deserve? Do you feel more relaxed now and less needing to prove yourself?
A: No, I'm never relaxed. I think complacency is a cousin of death. As far as respect, whether they do or don't, to each his own. But I do tell you this much, this is just the beginning. I promise you, it's just the beginning.

Barclaycard just announced an extra date for the British Summer Time live music series at Hyde Park featuring Lionel Richie and Jennifer Lopez.
The Motown Records star will appear alongside J.Lo on July 14, adding to an already stellar line-up which includes the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi and Elton John.
Tickets for Lionel Richie and Jennifer Lopez will go on sale at 9am on Friday May 24.

Next week will see the return of the live semi-finals of Britian's Got Talent and this year looks set to be bigger than ever as Jennifer Lopez, Olly Murs, Ellie Goulding, Demi Lovato and last year's winners Ashleigh and Pudsey will all be performing as this year's contestants await the voting results.
JLo will be heading to the UK to perform her new single 'Live It Up' on the show and if it's anything like her breath-taking performance on last week's 'American Idol' expect the mega star to turn up the heat at next week's result show.
British songstress Ellie Goulding will be treating audiences to medley of her recent releases including 'Anything Can Happen' and 'Explosions' while Olly Murs will be performing the title track from his multi-platinum album 'Right Here Right Now'.
Demi Lovato will be singing her new single 'Heart Attack' in front of fellow X Factor USA judge and frenemy Simon Cowell and to top it all off last year's winners Ashleigh and Pudsey will be reminding viewers why they were victorious last year by returning for an unmissable appearance.
Britain's Got Talent live semi-finals start next Monday May 27 from 7.30pm -9pm with the results show following at 9.30pm.
This year's live final will take place on June 8 when the winner of £250,000 and the coveted spot at this year's Royal Variety Performance will be revealed.

Jennifer Lopez admits that being a singer, actress and at the head of a clothing empire, can be tough to manage.
"Of course, it's overwhelming sometimes," Jennifer told Lee Cowan, in an interview for CBS' "Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood," airing this weekend.
"At times I'm like, 'Whoa, what am I taking on?' I'm taking on so much," she continued. "It's so overwhelming. But I feel like life is overwhelming. And you can't be afraid of that."
Jennifer, who CBS reported has a more than two decade deal to design clothes for Kohls, said she is fine with being a workaholic.
"I think we're supposed to work a lot in this life, you know what I mean? That's what it's about," she said. "It's about being productive in this life and doing something with your life and being proud of what you're doing with your life that make you kind of an interesting and fulfilled person at the end of the day."

Mariah Carey failed to give Jennifer Lopez a standing ovation when she performed on American Idol last night.
The renowned diva sits on this year's judging panel alongside Randy Jackson, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj.
Former Idol judge Jennifer gave a show-stopping performance of her new single Live it Up, which features Pitbull for the season finale last night. The beauty writhed around on stage, scantily clad in a white mini dress after the rapper opened the show.
Despite her energetic performance, Mariah stayed squarely on her chair while all three of her fellow judges jumped up to salute Jennifer's display.
Mariah was seen smiling in her chair, while the 43-year-old garnered rapturous applause.
There is famously history between the pair. The feud began shortly after Jennifer launched her recording career and was linked to Mariah's ex, Sony chief Tommy Mottola.
When asked about collaborating with Jennifer, Mariah once claimed: 'I'd rather be on stage with a pig. A duet with Jennifer Lopez and me just ain't gonna happen."
Mariah apparently also insisted on $2 million more than Jennifer when she took over her seat on Idol this season.
Despite her demands, rumours are circulating that producers are planning to replace the Mariah with Jennifer in a bid to save floundering ratings.
When questioned about the validity of the hearsay recently, Jennifer was evasive.
'Um, you know, I don't have much to say about that right now,' she said. 'I don't know. it's too far off to say right now.'
Meanwhile, Mariah showed off her vocal range during the show's finale last night. The star wowed with a seven-minute medley of some of her biggest hits, including Vision of Love and Hero, before ending with her newest single #Beautiful.
Jennifer Hudson also returned to the Idol stage to sing Inseparable with finalist Candice Glover.
