RedOne revealed that he is the executive producer of Lopez's upcoming eighth studio album. He described the album to MTV News as "very special" which would combine all of her genres, including "urban/hip-hop" along with "the dance, the rhythmic, the Latin".

The former "American Idol" judge will launch new programming including a backstage doc-series on her European concert tour.
Jennifer Lopez is partnering with nuvoTV -- an English-language, Latino-targeted cable channel -- on new programming, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera.
The singer, actress and former American Idol judge will also be involved in marketing strategies at nuvoTV, where she's a part owner. The channel was launched in 2004, and last year changed its name from Si TV to nuvoTV.
"I teamed up with them because I felt that there's a real, great opportunity to do something that has not yet been done," she told THR. "Thinking about myself growing up as a Puerto Rican girl in the Bronx, speaking English as my first language, and knowing that there was really nothing on TV for me! I remember very clearly, like on Sesame Street, Luis and Maria, the Spanish couple, or going to movies and loving West Side Story and that being a huge influence on my life to become an artist because there were Puerto Ricans in it."
As part of the deal, Lopez aims to introduce high-level, HBO-style films to the channel as well as scripted and unscripted series. In the pipeline: a backstage docu-series on her upcoming European concert tour alongside Enrique Iglesias, slated to air in early 2013. A reality show about Lopez's backup dancers (one of whom being her rumored beau, Casper Smart) is under consideration.
Lopez said she aims to create content to match that of BET, where the quality of the programming reaches viewers beyond the core audience.
"It's not an easy sell to go sell a Latino story to a network about a whole Latino family ... even in the movies," she said. "And at the end of the day, that's content that we're going to be looking for. There is a place now to go for that. ... We're dedicated to improving the content that's there, making it even better and, at the same time, creating new content that's gonna be entertaining."
Lopez's work with nuvoTV will not distract from her deals with other channels; earlier this year, she sold an English-language version of her Univision competition series Q’Viva!, The Chosen to Fox, where it aired in the spring.
Last month ABC Family ordered a pilot for a potential new series Lopez is executive producing called The Fosters (working title), a one-hour drama revolving around a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms.
"I still have a lot of other shows that I'm developing with other networks, ABC, Fox ... that's not gonna stop," she noted. "I'm gonna continue to be producing. I just might put them all on nuvo now."

Christian Louboutin has a monopoly on high fashion red soled shoes in the U.S. Among those who the French fashion designer has to thank are: Kate White (the outgoing Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan), Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lady Gaga, and a gaggle of other prominent celebrities. Who knew that their obsession with what a federal court has called his “Chinese red lacquered shoe sole” would help Louboutin get a trademark for it?
The Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals found, shortly before the start of New York’s Fashion Week, that Louboutin had the exclusive right to use that “look” on shoes in the United States. In its Sept. 5 decision, the court said that look was a “trademark” of Louboutin.
But wait, a trademark is like a cattle brand, right? It symbolizes who owns the cow but doesn’t prevent others from selling different cows. Ah, there’s the rub. When a trademark is the thing itself–in this case the red shoe sole–the line blurs into a legal monopoly of sorts. As a result, Louboutin is the only designer with rights to sell shoes with that look. The trademark has become the style and Louboutin has cornered the market.

Looks like it was date night for JLo and her beau Casper Smart in NYC last night. The couple were spotted going to see the hit Broadway play ‘Evita’ before heading out for a late dinner at Scantella. Jen has been super busy with her tour so it was probably fun for the two of them to enjoy a night out.
Jen looks very glam here in her tight black leather dress. I love it! I’m also having a hard time remembering that we won’t get to see her back in the judges chair at American Idol. I did like the perspective she and Stephen Tyler brought to the show so I think it’s going to be a bit odd at first without her there. Will you still tune in?

Earlier this year Mark Wahlberg told MTV News that Jennifer Lopez is chasing the role of Griselda Blanco "like crazy."
While Griselda Blanco's escapades were hardly a secret -- she was known as Colombia's 'Cocaine Godmother,' after all -- the 69-year-old's significant presence in the drug industry has been thrust into the international spotlight this week following her assassination outside a butcher shop in Medellin.
If Hollywood producers weren't rushing to cement Blanco's story on film before her death -- there were three feature films and an HBO series in the works -- they certainly are now. Earlier this year, Mark Wahlberg, who is working on a production for Paramount, told MTV News there was one actress in particular who was gunning for the role of Blanco -- Jennifer Lopez.
"It's one of those characters that will go down in history. Jennifer Lopez is chasing that [role] like crazy," Wahlberg said. "It's the role — if I could play Griselda, I would. That's Academy Award [bait] right there."
The 43-year-old actress has yet to receive an Oscar nomination in her career, but, like most in the industry, has been eyeing acting's top prize for years. In 2010, she spoke out about her role in the 2006 film "El Cantante" alongside ex Marc Anthony, revealing that she believed the Academy overlooked her part.
"I feel like I had that [Oscar worthy role] in 'El Cantante,' but I don't think the academy members saw it," Lopez told Latina magazine. "It is a little bit frustrating."
However, with plenty of accolades from her music career, Lopez didn't seem too worried about eventually getting some Oscar recognition.
"Things will happen when they're supposed to happen," Lopez said, explaining that she has the "utmost faith and no doubt that it will one day."
For Lopez, who has often bounced from serious roles to rom-com characters, winning the part of the infamous narcotics queen would put her right on the Academy's doorstep.
Wahlberg has been markedly silent about the film's production since he revealed he was waiting on the script and planned to shoot in Miami this year. However, with the news of Blanco's assassination, a script change may be in order.

Marc Anthony has put pen to pen to paper for the X Factor, and is set to become the show's latest mentor, reports Times Live.
The Grammy award winning singer-songwriter, and ex-husband to Jennifer Lopez will work on the hugely popular talent competition, The X Factor, alongside Simon Cowell to decide which prospective talents make it through, and which don't. Anthony will act as a mentor for the show, guiding those lucky enough to make it through with every aspect of their performance. The show, set to hit screens on September 12th will also enlist the help of teenage superstar Justin Bieber, and his droves of 'Beliebers' will enhance the show's appeal no end, and is set to fill a similar role to Anthony. He was spotted at Cowell's rival judge L.A. Reid's house, going through the acts and helping with decisions. Bieber - who was signed to Island Def Jam by L.A. - wrote on Twitter: "Long day but great day. LA_Reid ScooterBraun just like old times! thanks (sic)"
In other X Factor news, this time UK, One Direction have won their legal battle to keep their name. They had been facing action from a Californian rock band who had already been using the name. The intrepid U.S rockers were hoping to achieve damages of more than 600k but reports suggest that the situation has been resolved, and the U.S band are changing their name to Uncharted Shores, the title of one of their albums.
