Jennifer Lopez had to reprimand her children right before a concert on Friday
The 'On the Floor' hitmaker usually spends the moments before a show alone in her dressing room but had to step out in the Los Angeles Staples Center after four-year-old twins Max and Emme - her kids with ex-husband Marc Anthony - caused chaos backstage playing on scooters.
An onlooker said: '[They were] speeding around the green room area and causing a ruckus, almost running over people and running into things.'
Staff were trying to calm the children but to no avail, prompting their famous mother to be called to assist - and the kids calmed down right away without her saying a word.
The source added to the New York Post newspaper: '[She came out and] gave Max and Emme that 'mom' look to reprimand them.
'She got her kids off the scooters and back into their room.'
A spokesperson for the star said Jennifer was being a 'loving and responsible mom' in taking action.
The representative said: 'Jennifer's family has a private and secure area backstage at each show. Jennifer is a loving and responsible mom, she would never put her children or others in a dangerous situation.'

As Britney Spears and Mariah Carey gear up for their debut as judges on The X Factor USA and American Idol, respectively, Idol alum Jennifer Lopez offers the following advice for her talent show protgs.
"I always kind of just spoke right from the heart, and how I would want someone to speak to me if I was in that position," imparts Lopez, who announced her exit from the show after two seasons in mid-July. "It's just about being relaxed and being honest, and being yourself… If you try and think too much about what people might think or what you're saying too much, I think you get lost."
When asked how Carey specifically would likely fare in the hot seat, Lopez relayed her complete confidence in the five-time Grammy winner.
"So long as she's honest and speaks from the heart and just is herself, I think she'll be fine."
In the month or so since taking her leave from Idol, Lopez embarked on her very first headlining tour with none other than her sexy and talented pal, Enrique Iglesias. In addition to a relentless schedule of around-the-world performances, J.Lo recently became chief curator of Teeology, a company where artists submit their own designs, in the hopes that Lopez and the general public might select and later sell tees displaying their artwork.

Jennifer Lopez says new judges on talent shows should "relax and be honest".
The singer-and-actress had a successful period on the American Idol judging panel for two seasons. Jennifer announced she would be quitting the show in July and has since been replaced by songstress Mariah Carey. Idol's rival show The X Factor USA is hoping to win the ratings war after signing up Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. Jennifer's advice for the new wave of judges is to avoid over thinking.
"It's just about being relaxed and being honest, and being yourself?" Jennifer told ET Online. "If you try and think too much about what people might think or what you're saying too much, I think you get lost."
The straight talking star went on to explain her recipe for Idol success. Jennifer put faith in her instincts and tried not to deliberate over contestants too much.
"I always kind of just spoke right from the heart, and how I would want someone to speak to me if I was in that position," Jennifer revealed. "So long as [Mariah] is honest and speaks from the heart and just is herself, I think she'll be fine."
It seems Mariah is already following Jennifer's advice to say what she feels.
The 42-year-old solo star is reportedly frustrated that the rest of the American Idol panel are yet to be confirmed. Sources say Mariah is also annoyed that producers are considering younger female star Nicki Minaj to sit alongside her.
"Mariah hung up the phone when she was told Nicki was the top candidate," a source reported to TMZ. "Mariah was led to believe she would be the only woman on the judge's panel. Choosing Nicki would not only crush that expectation, it would add insult to injury because Nicki [29] is a lot younger than Mariah [42]."

Following in the footsteps of Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, Lopez is currently shooting footage for a documentary film to be called "Dance Again," according to her manager, Benny Medina.
Posted on August 19, 2012 by Ryan / Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Jennifer Lopez said she wanted to focus on her film career when she departed American Idol last month, and it sounds like she's doing just that.
Her manager, Benny Medina, told Extra TV on Saturday that the pop singer is currently filming for a 3D concert film, which will focus on "the last few years in Jennifer's life as she faced big changes."
Following in the footsteps of Justin Bieber (Never Say Never) and Katy Perry (Part of Me), the film has the potential to earn box office gold with a 3D look at JLo's sold-out tours with Enrique Iglesias, her two-season stint judging American Idol and -- of course -- tumultuous divorce from Marc Anthony, life with her four-year-old twins, and her young relationship with Casper Smart. Bieber's 2011 3D film has grossed $98 million worldwide; Perry's 3D documentary, which was only released last month, has already grossed more than $30 million worldwide.
Medina told Extra that JLo's film will be called Dance Again, the title of her upbeat track with Pitbull and her world tour. According to her manager, the title reflects Lopez's ability to get back up and "dance again" after life throws her curve balls.

It's been almost a year since Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced their split, but it looks like there's no drama when it comes to Lopez's new relationship with the much-younger Casper Smart.
TMZ caught Anthony and Smart hugging it out on July 2 at a New York airport.
Although Lopez has moved on with Smart, 25, she and Anthony have maintained a fairly drama-free divorce. The couple even continue to work together, having produced and appeared on the reality show "Q'Viva! The Chosen" together, and taken the stage side-by-side in Las Vegas earlier this year.
After announcing her split from Anthony in 2011, Lopez opened up about her relationship in Vanity Fair, telling the magazine that although their personal relationship didn't work out after seven years of marriage, their professional relationship is right on track. She added, "together we make magic."

One of the world’s most loved idol, musician and actress Jennifer Lopez joins the fourth outing of the phenomenal hit franchise “Ice Age” headed by its three heroes from different species namely Manny the mammoth, Diego the tiger and Sid the sloth in “Ice Age: Continental Drift”
This time, along with Manny’s family and Sid’s grandma, they face a formidable chilling adventure against a group of pirates in the cold seas. With Scrat in the middle of it all subdividing land masses into what we now know as the seven continents, the group’s all-new adventure takes them on a thrilling ride to the far end of the seas.
Jennifer Lopez plays Shira, a beautiful saber tooth pirate who is also a loyal first mate on their ship of pirates headed by a prehistoric orangutan named Captain Gutt (Peter Drinklage). After Diego and Manny capsized Gutt’s ship, Shira gets separated from the pirates and is shocked to discover that Gutt has no real loyalty to her. When Diego appeals to her join his motley crew, she has to make the decision to stick with Gutt or to join Diego, Manny and the herd. Initially battling Diego and his best friends Manny and Sid, Shira finds herself slowly losing her heart to Diego in the midst of their adventure to find home.
But alas! Love Love is never simple, especially for sabre-toothed tigers. Shira is a member of a pirate crew that has taken Diego, Manny and Sid hostage, so Shira and Diego’s initial encounters are as foes who go toe-to-toe – and sabre-to-sabre – against one another. They are equally matched. “Shira is a femme fatale; she’s sharp, fast and intelligent. But they’re more alike one another than either tiger would admit, and from their hostility and attempts at one-upmanship comes a shared point of view and ultimately a relationship,” director Steve Martino shares.
Leary insists it’s about time Diego found someone to share his life with. “It took only four ‘Ice Age’ movies for me to get a love interest. Believe me, when making the first ‘Ice Age’, I didn’t look down the road and think, you know, Diego’s going to get a girlfriend and it’s going to be J-Lo. I would have put that in my contract back then if I thought I could have gotten away with it!”
According to Jennifer Lopez, who joins the “Ice Age” family as Shira, Diego and Shira are destined to join forces. “The two characters have a similar backstory,” she explains. “Diego left his pack of sabre-toothed tigers in the first film, and Shira had left hers because she didn’t like the pack mentality. Shira felt like she didn’t belong anywhere until she joined the pirates. Eventually she realizes the pirates are out for themselves, and she must make a choice between staying with them or starting a new life with Diego.” And as we all know, Diego can be very convincing.
Lopez was excited about joining the “Ice Age” team, especially as an empowered figure. “ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT is a poignant, fun, exciting and sweet story, and I love playing strong female characters like Shira,” she explains.
The filmmakers were thrilled to get the multi-talented actress-singer-“American Idol” judge onboard. “Playing a character in an animated film is about more than just the actor’s voice,” says producer Lori Forte. “It’s about the attitude, and Jennifer really brings it.” The film also makes use of Lopez’s singing talents, as she joins her fellow pirates (including Peter Dinklage, Nick Frost, Aziz Ansari, and Alain Chabat) in a sea shanty, “Master of the Seas,” written by Adam Schlesinger (of Fountains of Wayne); and accompanies Nicki Minaj, Romano, Leary, John Leguizamo and Queen Latifah) in the closing song, “We Are (Theme from ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT),” written by Ester Dean.
But first, some words from J. Lo’s Shira – on filming the latest Ice Age movie and the experience with co-stars of various species.
Q: Great to meet you Shira. You’ve got such a beautiful shiny coat.
Shira: Purr… Thank you very much (licks paws).
Q: You’re new to the Ice Age gang. What did you make of them at first?
Shira: That pack of misfits? A sloth, a mammoth and a sabre-toothed tiger – it’s like the start of a really bad joke. No, I’m just kidding with you. Those guys are the best thing that ever happened to me. They gave me back my freedom… Well, after they locked me in a prison cave that is.
Q: Prison cave? What happened?
Shira: Oh, it’s a long story. Let’s just say I’d fallen in with a bad crowd and had some deep-seated trust issues.
Q: By a bad crowd, do you mean Captain Gutt and his revolting crew of pirates?
Shira: I’d really rather not talk about that phase of my life. It’s in the past now.
Q: We hear you’re quite a warrior princess. Is that true?
Shira: I can hold my own (strokes whiskers). All those years on a pirate ship did at least teach me how to fight. It was survival of the fittest out there, not survival of the friendliest.
Q: Not just a pretty kitty then?
Shira: Hissss! Everyone knows the female of the species is more deadly than the male. So you’d better watch out (growls).
Q: Oh come on, you two are blatantly having some kind of romance. Admit it – you melted his ice-cold heart didn’t you?
Shira: I’ll tell you what. If you can run to the top of that vertical cliff face and back in under 30 seconds, I’ll tell you anything you want.
“Ice Age 4: Continental Drift” opens July 12 in cinemas nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez will share the stage during a co-headlining tour this summer, which launches in Canada.
The first two stops: Montreal and Toronto.
Iglesias performed in Canada during his Euphoria Tour in Windsor, Ont., and Montreal last February.
During a conference call, Iglesias asked Lopez if it would be her first time touring in Canada.
"It might be, yeah," she said. "Canada, I don't think I've ever gone there, have I? Oh God. I don't remember."
Actually, she has been here before. Lopez visited Toronto and Montreal in October 2007. She performed on stage with then-husband Marc Anthony on their El Cantante tour.
Meanwhile, Iglesias spent time in Toronto while recording his first album.
"You're gonna love it," he told Lopez over the phone. "I love Montreal. It's quite a city and then Toronto has always been good."
It's the first time the two singers have toured together.
"We probably share some fans, but (we're) definitely going to introduce each other to a whole other set of fans," Lopez said. "It really is a gift for the fans to be able to see a few different artists they like or be exposed to a new artist."
Iglesias and Lopez did not disagree on anything during the interview -- except on who should close the show.
Lopez argued the screaming girls would enjoy it if he closed the concert, while Iglesias said he wouldn't mind watching her perform from the audience.
The summer tour begins on July 14 and 15 with two concerts at the Bell Centre in Montreal, followed by two performances at the Air Canada Centre on July 17 and 18.

Jennifer Lopez is reportedly “finally seeing the reality” of her relationship with a much younger man.
The 42-year-old American Idol judge has been dating backing dancer Casper Smart, 25, for a few months now following her split from estranged husband Marc Anthony.
But insiders tell OK! magazine that the Latin beauty is concerned about how committed a father figure Casper could be to her four-year-old twins Max and Emme.
“She’s finally seeing the reality of the situation,” an insider told the publication. “Casper loves the kids but he’s not up for any real responsibility.”“He’s happy being the good-time buddy that takes them to the water park – like a Disneyland Dad – but he’s not going to be hands-on, wipe-the-butt dad.
“That’s just not where he’s at in his life and she doesn’t blame him. He’s only 25 and she doesn’t want to rush him into anything.
“He’s just starting his career, and he’s been making some big moves as a choreographer, and Jen doesn’t want to take him away from that.”

In April, Jennifer Lopez was all smiles when she announced her first world tour, a collaborative effort supported by Enrique Iglesias and Wisin y Yandel.
J-Lo promised that it was "going to be one of the most historic tours ever," admitting that she didn't think "there has ever been something where these Latinos have come together like this as family."
But what she didn't realize was that every family has drama. And for the 42-year-old former American Idol judge, it plays out in the pages of the Hollywood Reporter.
According to that website, Wisin y Yandel have dropped out of the tour just 12 days before it starts in Montreal.
In a joint statement, the Puerto Rican reggaetoneros wished "Jennifer and Enrique, as well as the tour, the very best," and are promising "to do [their] best to announce an upcoming U.S. tour in the very near future."
Randy Phillips, president of AEG Live, the tour's promoter, tells the Hollywood Reporter that a "host of things" went into the decision. But ultimately, the departure was "amicable."
"It was better for their careers to do their own tour than to be a third act on this tour," he says. "There were timing issues, how long the show could be and just a myriad of issues."
According to Philips, "an artist that caters to a Latin audience" will fill Wisin y Yandel's spot, though that announcement won't be made until next week.

One of filmdom’s most beloved trios – ‘Ice Age’s’ Manny, Diego, and Sid – embark upon their greatest adventure after cataclysm sets an entire continent adrift. Separated from the rest of the herd, they use an iceberg as a makeshift ship, which launches them on an epic seafaring quest. Manny and the gang are challenged like never before to become heroes and do the impossible, as they encounter exotic sea creatures, explore a brave new world, and battle ruthless pirates. Scrat’s reunion with his beloved but cursed acorn catapults him to places no prehistoric squirrel has gone before. Opening in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D cinemas July 13th, ‘Ice Age 4: Continental Drift’ is directed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier. The voice talents of Ray Romano, Denis Leary and John Leguizamo are reunited with Queen Latifa and Seann William Scott in this new instalment of the award-winning and Oscar-nominated animated series. They are joined by new voices Jennifer Lopez, Nick Frost, Aziz Ansari, Alan Tudyk, Josh Peck, Peter Dinklage, Wanda Sykes, Keke Palmer, Drake, Heather Morris, Joy Behar, Nicki Minaj, Josh Gad, Kunal Nayyar, Alain Chabat and JB Smoove. In the fourth installment in the popular franchise, Jennifer Lopez lends her voice to Steffie while Drake voices Ethan.
Can you tell us a little bit about your characters in ‘Ice Age 4: Continental Drift’?
Jennifer Lopez: I play Shira, who’s a Sabre-toothed tiger. She runs with a pirate crowd, they’re like a “gang” I guess, and she kind of belongs to that gang. She’s left her pack, she didn’t like the whole pack mentality and she decided to leave. She didn’t believe she belonged anywhere and then she got in with Captain Gutt’s group. With them she felt like she belonged somewhere for the first time, in a way. Gutt embraced her and made her his First Mate. Shira, she’s very smart and she becomes his right hand. And then they encounter Diego and the other ’Ice Age’ main characters, who’ve been separated from their families. They try to take them as their prisoners. Then the ‘Ice Age’ crew, they try to escape and it becomes a whole thing back and forth (laughs). To see if they’ll get away and get back to their families.
How about you Drake?
Drake: I play a Mammoth in the equation, and his name is Ethan. He’s a young, strapping, handsome jock. He’s really good at turtle football, he’s very “popular”. He catches the eye of Peaches in ‘Ice Age 4: Continental Drift.’ I was really excited about my character. If I get an action figure out of this whole deal, I think I’m gonna attach it like a pendant on a chain, and get a jeweller to cover it in flawless VVS diamonds (laughs). I’ll wear it in my next video, that’ll be cool (laughs).
Jennifer, your character has an interesting arc with Diego in the story?
Jennifer Lopez: Yeah. I think Diego and Shira’s relationship is kind of funny, kind of that classic movie leading lady and leading man relationship where the girls kind of tough, and the guy, he kind of falls for her right away (laughs). But he’s always trying to show that he’s better than her, can one up her or whatever….but he really can’t (laughs). And I think, there comes a point in the story where Shira has to choose between going down the path with the pirates and Captain Gutt, or starting a life with Diego. Love, what do-ya-do (laughs)?
I can imagine the process of capturing your performance as Shira bringing a whole set of unique challenges to acting….?
Jennifer Lopez: Definitely. When you’re trying to transmit just through your voice, even though there’s going to be animation and visuals, I think as an actor you get really disappointed with how your voice sounds. Because you’re so used to using your face and your body to get a feeling across. When you’re doing this it’s really challenging. You have to do more than you would when you’re acting. Just to get the feeling of what you’re trying to do and what you’re trying to say and what you’re trying to make people feel, that has to come across with just using your voice.
Drake, even considering all of your experience in a recording studio, how was that process for you on ‘Ice Age 4: Continental Drift’?
Drake: It’s interesting because I had a movie that I was working on that’s so super serious, which is about the financial world, and then I get to be this over the top Mammoth in ‘Ice Age 4: Continental Drift’ (laughs). A lot of capturing these characters is going as far as you can. Because you realise that the audience is not gonna see your face, they’re not gonna see you look awkward and screaming if you have to do things which are a little over the top. All that people are gonna do is hear it, so that’s something to really digest when you first step into that studio, like, “OK, I’ve got to go above and beyond of what I think is normal and what I think is good. I’ve got to give it a little bit extra.” It was a cool learning experience.
What was it about Shira and this project that intrigued you?
Jennifer Lopez: I just love playing tough women characters in movies. It’s always great to have a role where she really has a big part in the story. This could be the beginning of a family for Diego and Shira. For Diego, it could be a whole shift in his character after a few movies. She’s a great character. She’s a strong female lead character, in a really poignant, sweet story about family. I was down!
Even though you’ve acted before, with ‘Ice Age 4: Continental Drift’ it’s not you personally on the big screen. What do you think that experience will be like watching the film?
Drake: I will probably be the guy who’s at the theatre every night with the 3D glasses on with my friends – especially because I feel like it’s going to be so cool to see that I’m in it, but as you said, I’m not personally “in it”, I don’t have to look at myself and see bad moments or anything (laughs), I can just go and watch an animated character with my voice. I’ll be at the theatre a whole bunch of times when this is in theatres, in my free time. I’m excited.
Latin urban duo Wisin & Yandel have dropped out of the upcoming North American concert tour with Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez due to "unresolvable issues," according to a spokesperson for the artists.
"It is with sadness and regret that we have decided to withdraw from the tour,"Wisin & Yandel said in a joint statement. "Our sincerest apologies go out to our fans. We wish Jennifer and Enrique, as well as the tour, the very best. We promise to do our best to announce an upcoming U.S. tour in the very near future as we are as eager to be out there performing for our fans as they are to see us."
Randy Phillips, the president of AEG Live which is promoting the tour, said that the duo's departure was mutual among all involved parties.
"It was amicable," said Phillips, who was reached by phone Friday (June 29). "It was probably better for them to do their own tour."

When asked to elaborate about the issues surrounding the departure, Phillips said it was "a host of things" that led to the final decision made on Thursday.
"It was better for their careers to do their own tour then to be a third act on this tour," Phillips said. "There were timing issues, how long the show could be and just a myriad of issues."
The tour, which has been extended and scheduled to start on July 14, will include a new opening act to be named next week, Phillips said. "It will be an artist that caters to a Latin audience."
Phillips emphasized that Wisin y Yandel have had strong working relationships with both Lopez and Iglesias and he expects that they will continue collaborating with each other in the future. Lopez and the duo teamed up recently on the song "Follow The Leader," which on YouTube has already received nearly 28 million views.
Last year, Iglesias was supposed to tour with Britney Spears during the summer, but that never happened and Iglesias then called on Pitbull and Prince Royce for a fall U.S. tour. The Euphoria Tour grossed more than $7.2 million in its final nine dates. At New York's Madison Square Garden it made more than $1.3 million on Nov. 4, according to Billboard Boxscore.
In recent months Wisin & Yandel have announced various projects including a clothing line developed in conjunction with designer Marc Ecko and scheduled to be available at Macy's stores nationwide beginning in July.
The Grammy-winning duo's new album, "Lideres," will be released on July 3.
