Jennifer Lopez says the secret to her happy marriage is she makes her husband coffee.
The actress-and-singer has been married to Marc Anthony for six years, and they have two-year-old twins Max and Emme together. Jennifer has been wed twice before and also had a number of other high-profile romances, but says being with Marc has made her the happiest she has ever been. The pair work hard to keep their marriage strong, and want to set a good example for their kids.
“It takes work to keep the romance in a marriage. One of the things some women forget first when they have a family is their relationship with their husband. And that takes some concentration. I’m always asking myself, ‘What did I do for our relationship today? Did I wake him up this morning? Did I make him a cup of coffee? Did I do something nice for him? Did I tell him I love him?” she explained. “All those things are so easy to forget to do, but they’re so essential because the relationship between a couple is one of the most important ones in the family.”
Jennifer has always “followed her heart” when it comes to relationships, but says being with Marc is unlike anything she has ever known. They make each other feel special, and she doesn’t need to make an effort while with him.
The 41-year-old also loves the way her spouse treats her, explaining he often splashes out on jewellery for her. He bought her an especially lavish gift for their first wedding anniversary, although Jennifer was expecting it.
“On our first wedding anniversary I told Marc, ‘You better get me a gift that’s really good, really great, because it’s a bit step for me to be married a whole year.’ And he did. I’m big into accessories and I love diamonds, so he got me a beautiful, magnificent 14-carat blue diamond ring. It’s an heirloom and it’s gorgeous,” she told British newspaper The Sunday Mirror. “He’s given me many, many gifts since then, but that ring he gave me to celebrate that we’d made it to the first year mark is the favourite piece of jewellery I own.”

2010.08.28 / by Ryan Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are bidding to turn Puerto Rico into a movie capital. The actor/singers, both born in the U.S. to Puerto Rican parents, want to build a hi-tech sound-stage in the city of Fajardo and attract big budget TV and movie productions to the Caribbean resort.
They have already met with Fajardo mayor Anibal Melendez who claims the superstar pair had "a lot of enthusiasm" for the project. Lopez and Anthony were recently reported to be eying a second home in Puerto Rico after visiting Donald Trump's resort on the island.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony became husband and wife after tying the knot in June 2004. Together, they have twin babies, Emme Maribel Muniz, and Maximilian "Max" David Muniz. Anthony also has sons, Christian and Ryan Anthony, and daughter Ariana from his previous relationships.

According to In Touch Weekly magazine, the Hollywood couple — recently moved into a huge new house in Hidden Hills, Calif. — have interviewed to become members at the local Sherwood Country Club! “J. Lo showed up looking like Jackie O,” a source said, “And Marc was wearing some ridiculous preppy style outfit — it was like they looked up what people wear to country clubs and then tried to imitate it.
“Jennifer did all the talk — Marc barely said anything.
“”It seemed clear that he didn’t want to mess up, like it was really important to her.”
Lopez is also planning to run for the local homeowners’ association board.
“Jennifer already wants to make some improvements to the neighborhood, so she’s getting involved in the association,” a friend explains.
“She’s attending meetings and wants to run for office during the next election.”

Jennifer Lopez has asked Kanye West to write a duet for them to perform.
The 41-year-old singer thinks it would be “so fun” to collaborate with the hip-hop star and is desperate to record something with him. She hinted she had already discussed a possible project with him in a message on her Twitter page after a fan suggested she work with him.
“It'd b so fun to work w him. Kanye -when can you write THAT song for me? (sic),” Jennifer wrote.
Jennifer also answered a fan who asked how she found the strength to keep auditioning early in her career. The star said self-belief was the key, and encouraged the girl to keep trying.
“Believe in urself & nvr listen to ppl when they say u can't do it! (sic),”Jennifer wrote.

Jennifer Lopez is on the hunt for a personal assistant, so all you folks looking for a steady gig with a raging diva who wouldn't be on American Idol unless they paid her $20 million a year, despite her inability to act and her fading recording career, sign on up! At least someone is hiring. "The person has to be graceful under pressure, have a thick skin, and be resourceful in foreign countries, among others things," a source (likely J.Lo herself, since she doesn't have an assistant, or maybe Marc Anthony) tells Life & Style. "You'll be expected to travel at a moment's notice and must know how to adjust in each city. ... You have to change diapers, work on little sleep and cook if the butler is away."
In addition to all that, you have to be comfortable around "very high profile people" and be willing to help dress Lopez for photo shoot and events. The salary: $55,000 to $65,000 per year. You'd think Jen could spring for a little higher paycheck for someone expected to work 168 hours a week.
2010.08.14 / by Ryan Jennifer Lopez goes to the park with her family for an afternoon of swinging and sliding on Saturday (August 7) in Los Angeles.
The 41-year-old future American Idol judge was joined by her husband Marc Anthony, their children Max and Emme, and his two sons from his previous marriage, Christian and Ryan.
After their fun at the park, the happy family went to hamburger joint Johnny Rockets to grab some food for all the kids.
2010.08.13 / by Ryan Jennifer Lopez headed right to the swings on Saturday when she visited an LA playground with her husband, Marc Anthony, and their children, Max and Emme. J Lo may soon have to leave the California sunshine and head out on the road as a new judge for American Idol — auditions for this season start tomorrow in Austin, TX. She and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler are new additions to the program, but Randy Jackson is sticking around to offer them and the performers his advice. Hopefully, their new lineup works out, since you seem to agree that the judges are a big part of the hit show.

2010.08.13 / by Ryan Jennifer Lopez may or may not have an American Idol judging gig, but there's one thing she's definitely not lacking: Plenty of bling.
The "Jenny From the Block" singer took to her Twitter page on Thursday to share a picture of her jewelry collection with the world. The caption for the sparkly pic?
2010.08.12 / by Ryan Jennifer Lopez is no longer in consideration to join the judging panel on reality TV show American Idol due to her escalating demands, according to new reports.
The singer/actress was named alongside Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler as possible replacements for exiting judges Ellen DeGeneres and Simon Cowell.
But talks have now broken down between Lopez and Fox network executives and she has been dropped from plans for the upcoming 10th season, reports People.com.
A source says, “Her demands got out of hand. Fox had just had enough.”
Tyler, who has confirmed he has met with TV bosses, has emerged as a strong contender to sit on the panel with existing judge Randy Jackson, while the rest of the line-up remains a mystery.
Even some of television's biggest stars set aside time to watch "American Idol." At NBC's Television Critics Association event on Friday in Beverly Hills, they sounded off on Jennifer Lopez joining the show.
2010.08.03 / by Ryan
"School Pride"'s Cheryl Hines shrugged, "It sounds good to me. She seems to know something about pop culture, so I'm sure she'll add something special to the show."
Jimmy Smits of the new drama "Outlaw" gave his insight. i>"She was a great mentor when she did the show and I think that she'll give a lot of valuable, not only critical stuff, but support to the 'Idol' guys," he evaluated.
With JLo's famous curvaceous body in mind, "The Event"'s Blair Underwood gave his two thumbs up. "I think she's a hottie. What these kids are aspiring to do, she's accomplished," he said in approval of the casting.
Executive producer extraordinaire, "Law & Order: Los Angeles"' Dick Wolf, offered his knowledge about shaping a show with a sturdy spine of cast members. "My inclination would be not to replace them with performers," he debated. "I would have looked for someone more in the Simon [Cowell], Piers Morgan tradition of guys that aren't performers themselves…The thing that made the show the monster that it is or was, to me was Simon."
Fellow New Yorker Russell Simmons sang his praises for both Jenny from the Block and rumored new judge Steven Tyler, calling them "funny and charming." As a personal friend of Ryan Seacrest, "Chase" star Amaury Nolasco pledged his loyalty to "Idol" "since day one" and thinks it'll be "tough" to replace Simon's infusion of wit and wisdom. With the shift in judges, "It's more about musicians now, real musicians, singers. It's not from a producer's point of view anymore," he predicted.
News broke last week that Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi won't be returning to the judging panel on "American Idol." Simon announced months ago that season nine was to be his final go around. With Paula Abdul's departure following the eight installment, Randy Jackson will be the only founding judge remaining behind the desk.
2010.08.03 / by Ryan Jennifer Lopez is living as big and fabulous a life as ever—she’s just not letting the paparazzi watch. With a new record about to debut, she opened up to Glamour about motherhood, marriage and the sexy style she shows off here.
There’s an old Jennifer Lopez song that goes, “I’m feeling so good/I knew that I would/Been taking care of myself/Like I should.” Back when she first sang those words—amid a series of high-profile romantic flameouts—they might have seemed like wishful thinking. But now, poolside at her house in the suburbs of New York, wearing a long Pucci patio dress and no makeup, the actress, singer and business mogul is living that confident message. Her new album may be titled Love?, but in real life, there’s no question mark. These days, Lopez, 41, is a happily married lady, having just celebrated her six-year wedding anniversary with singer Marc Anthony. They’re mom and dad to twins Emme and Max, and if you saw her dancing with Tom Cruise at this year’s MTV Movie Awards (a moment well worth YouTubing), it’s clear that the woman’s still got it.
I first interviewed Lopez for this magazine three years ago, when her pool was under renovation and the twins were just a twinkle in her eye; since then, I’ve gotten to know her a bit (Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions is developing a film version of a series of books I wrote about Latina girls in Miami). Today the pool is complete, and Jennifer’s mom, her niece and sister splash around in the water, waiting for her to join them. But before jumping in, she shares with me the story of these past few years and where that confidence—and the kind of happiness that fills her new music—comes from.
GLAMOUR: So how much of this photo shoot is really like your life?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I like to maintain a certain sense of fantasy in my life. I am kind of like that at home. Do I have the full hair and makeup? No. But I might have the nice dress on.
GLAMOUR: And is Chinese takeout a staple in your home?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: Marc actually loves Chinese a little too much. He’ll say, “I’m really in the mood for Chinese.” I’m like, “Again?”
GLAMOUR: Do both of you like to cook?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: Marc doesn’t cook, but he will prepare an occasional turkey. I like to cook Puerto Rican food. That’s what I grew up on: rice, beans, meat, some Italian-American food. I know my way around the kitchen. We enjoy having that normalcy, because we don’t have that much of it. We really are a traveling gypsy family.
GLAMOUR: I feel like the public has a good idea of who you are, but do you think that the public knows Marc?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: Probably not as much. He’s concentrated on not being out there as much.
GLAMOUR: Has he made you more private? Or do you make him more open?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I think both. I think that’s what a partnership is—you take the positives from both people and incorporate them. He helped me learn that there was a way to have more privacy and more stability in my life.
GLAMOUR: Does this year feel like a return to the public?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: It does. It’s funny—I don’t feel like I’ve been anywhere, except kind of on maternity leave. It’s been great, and I definitely feel renewed vigor for my career.
GLAMOUR: Did you plan on two years at home?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I didn’t. In my mind I first felt like, Oh, I’ll be back to work right after the babies are born. But then you don’t want to. Even now, it’s very difficult for me to leave them in the morning. It just tortures me. I’m like, It’s been hours; are they wondering where I am? Do they know that I love them so much and I’m thinking only about them?
GLAMOUR: Is Marc the kind of dad you imagined he’d be?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: He’s a passionate person, and he’s the same way with his kids, and I love it. When it comes to all his kids [including a daughter and sons from previous relationships], he’s mush, whatever they want.
GLAMOUR: Are you the stricter one?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I’m the one who keeps everybody on schedule, like, Got to go to bed at this time, got to eat something…. I was talking about this with somebody—they asked, “Do you still love working?” I said, “I just do it quicker.” There’s no “Go to the studio, have dinner, sit there.” I don’t have all the time in the world anymore.
GLAMOUR: Right. Did it change your workout routine? Did you give yourself time to get back into shape?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I did the triathlon six months after the babies were born, and part of that was about giving myself a goal. Maybe it was an emotional thing: Like, that tiger’s still in there. But it takes a year [after pregnancy]. You’re not going to get slim in six weeks. For me, it’s been back and forth. Now, two years later, I feel really back to normal.
GLAMOUR: Will you do another triathlon?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I would if I didn’t have to swim in the ocean. That really scared me! If it were in a pool, I’d do it again in a minute. It’s an amazing thing to push yourself and to accomplish a goal like that.
GLAMOUR: Does that apply to everything in your life?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I think so. I feel if in your mind you can do it, you can do it. You cannot doubt yourself. Doubt is a killer. You just have to know who you are and what you stand for.
GLAMOUR: But how do you dismiss doubt? Is it a friend that you turn to? Is it yourself? Is it working even harder?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I didn’t experience doubt until later in my life. When I was young, I was just about hard work. But as I got older, I did experience anxiety, doubt, judgment, and it’s so easy to lose yourself for a second. I always joke about letting the haters motivate you. Everybody has that in their life, people who doubt them or make them feel less than they are. It just takes faith and belief in yourself, and you’ve got to dig deep into that. That has to come from you—nobody’s going to give you that. You can have a great mentor, a great partner, a great love in your life who gives you confidence and makes you feel great about yourself. And that’s all wonderful, but at the end of the day, if you don’t believe it, all of that means nothing.
GLAMOUR: This has been such an inspiring time politically for Latinas, with the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. Have you met her?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: We have. We actually had a dinner for her here at the house.
GLAMOUR: Wow. When she got confirmed?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: Yes. It was so inspirational what she accomplished. My mom and sister were in Atlantic City with us on the [day she was confirmed]. Marc was still in bed, and he goes, “It’s happening. She’s on the TV. She’s getting sworn in.” And she was standing there with her mom. I will never forget this moment: We all stopped and looked, and we all started crying. You just felt it. It was such a huge accomplishment to be the first Latina, to be from the Bronx, to be everything that she is. So we thought we had to do something nice and invited her over. And I told her, “Just know that you make me want to be better. You make people realize that with hard work, living a good life, you can do anything. You will be rewarded for that.”
GLAMOUR: As a mom, you’re a role model for your kids. What do you want to tell Max about love and how to treat women?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I think about it a lot. I want to teach him respect and appreciation for women by being a great woman.
GLAMOUR: What will you tell Emme about love?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I was talking about it with one of my girlfriends—the day our daughters come to us at 19 years old saying, “I want to get married.” And we know for damn sure that that’s not a good idea. Sometimes [Emme] is going to make mistakes, and she’s going to have to live through that, just like I did. I know my mother suffered with me through many things. I’m just going to be suffering on the sidelines.
GLAMOUR: Do you wish that some parts of your past weren’t so public?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I don’t regret what I’ve been through. I’ve had ups and downs, super highs and some really low lows. I’ve been so blessed that I could never say, “I wish this didn’t happen.” It’s part of who I am. There’s nothing in my life that’s so ugh. Yes, there are some things that I’m like, Eww, but not where I’m worried about [Max and Emme] finding out. I’ll tell them myself. No secrets from them.
GLAMOUR: Your new album is titled Love? Why the question mark?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: For me, love is the never-ending question. It is confusing. It is the answer, but it is also inundated with contradictions and complications. It’s about years of experience in different relationships, and kind of the culmination of that, and how even to this day, I’m still learning.

The Jenny From The Block hitmaker’s manager, Benny Medina, apparently swooped in when he heard Simpson was in talks to join American Idol as a judge, and instead landed his superstar client the coveted spot on the TV talent show’s panel.
“You won’t find many folks that like Jessica’s movies or music, but who doesn’t love watching Jessica on TV,” a source told the PopEater website.
“She would be the perfect person to replace the void that Paula Abdul left. Jess is funny, caring and a total ditz. Just what the show needs to make America start caring again.
“[But] Benny dazzled the Idol producers in his pitch of J.Lo, and how the power of his client could put Idol back on top.
“This was literally music to Idol’s ears after seeing their show drop over 20 percent in the ratings in just one year.
“All of this has left Jessica heartbroken, she has known for some time that she needs a Benny Medina-type manager to secure her the big opportunities when they come along, but how do you fire your own dad?”
