To mark a whirlwind last twelve months on the charts, capitalfm.com has unveiled a round-up of every number one of the year.
Rihanna started the year as she carried on by being the first artist to top the countdown in 2011 with 'What's My Name' featuring Drake.
She was then replaced by Bruno Mars, whose hit 'Grenade' went on to stay at the one for four consecutive weeks, despite competition from Adele, Cheryl Cole, Britney Spears, Wretch 32 and Taio Cruz.
Lady Gaga became the fourth chart-topper of 2011 with the title track from her second album 'Born This Way'.
Jennifer Lopez also enjoyed chart success this year with 'On The Floor' featuring Pitbull enjoying a three-week reign at number one, while Example's 'Changed The Way You Kissed Me' also spent three weeks at the top.
Maroon 5's 'Moves Like Jagger' first topped the Vodafone Big Top 40 chart in early September 2011, before being knocked off the top spot by 'What Makes You Beautiful', the debut single from One Direction.
But it climbed back to the number one spot and held it for a further two consecutive weeks.
As the year came to an end, it was Rihanna who enjoyed more success, with 'We Found Love', the first single from her new album 'Talk That Talk', topping the Vodafone Big Top 40.

After what appeared to be a fairly civilized July split following seven years of marriage, things between Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are getting seriously ugly, multiple insiders tell the new Us Weekly, out now.
The catalyst? Lopez's newfound love with Casper Smart, a 24-year-old backup dancer who's already getting along swimmingly with Max and Emme, Lopez's 3-year-old twins with Anthony, 43.
When the Latin crooner spotted photos of Lopez and Smart bonding with his son and daughter during a Thanksgiving vacation in Kauai, Hawaii, he "hit the roof," one source says. "It caused a huge blowup."
Anthony's next move: Although he and Lopez, 42, already hammered out custody arrangements for the twins -- ceding primary custody to the singer and American Idol judge -- a close source tells Us he may go "back on his word."
His ultimate motive, says the source? "He wants to make Jennifer suffer because she's having fun with someone new, and he knows this will hurt her on the deepest level."
But Lopez, says another pal, is "ready to smash him if he tries anything…It's getting vicious."

With the release today of two separate top 10 lists for most viewed videos of the year, YouTube acknowledged its Rebecca Black -like roots and its Jenny from the Block aspirations.
The first list featured a couple cat videos, talking babies and overnight ‘singing’ sensation Rebecca Black—typical Internet video fare, in other words. The second list came from major music labels with videos starring Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and Miami-based follicle-challenged Pitbull. J.Lo and company completely blew Black and her feline friends out of the water, views-wise. The top video, “On the Floor” featuring Jennifer Lopez, netted 453 million views since its YouTube debut in March 3.
All told, the 10 most-watched videos from major music labels claimed over two billion views on YouTube in 2011.
The major music label clips were distributed by Vevo, a music-video service that pushes music videos and events like concert webcasts to artists pages on YouTube and Facebook, as well as across various mobile platforms and connected television devices such as Boxee.
Vevo said today that October video views across all platforms—mobile apps, Facebook, YouTube, etc.—were almost 800 million views in the U.S. That same month the two-year-old company served 3.6 billion streams worldwide. Vevo also reported that viewers spent an average of 66 minutes a month watching Vevo videos on all of its platforms.
Over the past year YouTube has pushed a number of changes to attract premium content and up the time that viewers spend on the video channel—a play for ad dollars from the Internet and perhaps the $70 billion television-ad market.
This month YouTube redesigned its site to spotlight a growing selection of programming topics, or “channels,” front and center. Earlier YouTube announced the creation of around 100 online video channels, featuring original programming from A-List talent such as Madonna, Jay-Z and actor Ashton Kutcher.

You're not really a celebrity until Entertainment Tonight does a story on you -- and now the newsmagazine has released its annual list of which celebrities they reported on the most in 2011. Justin Bieber came in #5 on the list -- he was the subject of 98 stories on ET over the year. Jennifer Lopez, however, came in at #2, jointly with her soon-to-be-ex husband Marc Anthony. Stories about the couple were featured on ET 126 times over the past year.
The show's #1 most-reported on celebrities in 2011 were Prince William and Kate Middleton, who appeared 155 times. The Kardashian family came in at #3 with 125 mentions. Charlie Sheen was #7, with 95 mentions.

The 42-year-old entertainer, wearing jeans and a cropped red top, decided to kick off her heels and do some capoeira, a Brazilian art form combining martial arts, sports, and music.
Uruguay marks the latest stop in Jennifer’s tour of South America, where she’s been scouting talent for ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen.
Earlier in the week, Jen was in Chile after visiting Peru.

J.Lo was filming part of her TV show Q’Viva: The Chosen, where she met with a skillfull youth who was dancing, juggling and doing various tricks with a soccer ball. Jennifer got involved by being given a spinning ball on a stick. Her second attempt went much better than the first as she managed to hold the spinning ball for quite a few seconds. Jennifer even attempted to pass the ball by kicking it with her high heels.
