Jennifer Lopez: I'm Still Jenny from the Block!
Working hard to revive her career, Jennifer Lopez says she'll always be Jenny from the Block, as her annoying, self-serving song told everyone many years ago.
"I guess in a way parts of me are going to be different, but in general I’m still the same girl from the Bronx who had big dreams," Lopez says in the latest issue of Redbook.
Over the last couple months, J. Lo has guest-hosted Lopez Tonight and taken the Saturday Night Live stage. She'll soon star in The Back-Up Plan and will also appear on Glee this spring. Will it be enough to make her an A-lister again?
Lopez claims she doesn't care: “I always wanted to be great at what I did - that’s what drove me... I never thought about money or fame, and I never really thought that would happen to me. All that was just a by-product.” The issue above goes on sale April 20.
In the interview, Lopez also touches on motherhood, saying:
“I can’t help but be a different person now that I’ve had kids. That really does change your whole perspective on life for the better. I definitely feel like I’ve grown up."

Jennifer Lopez has urged stressed-out mothers to pamper themselves at least once a week to stop parenthood from driving them crazy.
The singer/actress juggles her responsibilities as a mom to two-year-old twins Max and Emme with her busy career, but insists she wouldn't be able to balance the two if she didn't take some time to herself to indulge in her favorite hobby.
She tells Redbook magazine, "We (mothers) tend to give away a lot. We take care of a lot of people, and we can't forget to take care of ourselves. If that means once a week you're going to go off without the kids... and just go shoe shopping - well, that's me, because I love shoes - or get a facial even if your sister thinks that's selfish, or join a Zumba (dance aerobics) class, or take a painting class, or whatever, you've just got to do it. It's just two hours a week, for heaven's sake."

Jennifer Lopez reveals the secrets to balancing a multifaceted career, marriage and motherhood in the May 2010 issue of Redbook, on stands April 20th. Here’s what the 40-year-old diva shared:
On marriage and finding “the one”: “I think you can love many different people, but that’s different from what makes a great partner in life, which Marc [Anthony] is for me… He inspires me to be better at everything—a better person, mom, singer, performer, friend, and wife. A marriage is long, and you’ve got to like the person as much as you love or lust after them. You’ve got to be friends first.”

King of Pop, Queen of Soul honored by Apollo Theater
New York's Apollo Theater will honor Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin by inducting them into its hall of fame this summer.
Jackson first performed at the Apollo's Amateur Night with his brothers in the late 1960s. They won, launching their career as the Jackson Five.
Franklin is scheduled to attend the June 14 ceremony at the historic Harlem theater, where Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will also be honored with the theater's arts and humanitarian award.
Past hall of fame inductees include Quincy Jones, Patti LaBelle and Ella Fitzgerald.

Jennifer Lopez confirms signing with Island Def Jam
She said yes. Jennifer Lopez confirmed to Hitfix that she is signing with L.A. Reid's Island Def Jam label. Rumors had been swirling since her split with Sony's Epic Records that she and Reid would team up, but no official word from either party had been issued.
Hitfix's Greg Ellwood asked Lopez point blank "Are you signing with Def Jam" on Monday during an interview for "The Back-Up Plan" and she said yes, not once, but twice, smiling about the prospect. Word on the street is that Reid will not only sign Lopez, but will produce the actress/singer's new album.
Last month, Lopez and Epic split up before the release of her seventh studio album "Love" following the disappointing reaction to such singles as "Louboutins." Her manager, Benny Medina, confirmed the split to Deadline Hollywood Daily, which broke the news. Since then, the IDJ chatter has only gotten louder. We can't wait to see what Reid and Lopez come up with
