on the attack against a Valley man, who said he was just trying to help her
career. The fight, which ended up at a UN commission, revolves around two
websites, jenniferlopez.net and jenniferlopez.org. A Valley man built the sites
years ago and they were getting thousands of hits a day. But this year, J-Lo decided they belonged to her. "I'm just a fan trying to promote her and her
career," said site creator JT. JT created jenniferlopez.net and
jenniferlopez.org 10 years ago. The sites are one-stop-shops for everything
J-Lo, but recently Lopez trade-marked her name and decided she wanted control of
JT's websites. "I've spent thousands of dollars over the
years in developing the website out of my own pocket," he said. So to
cover those costs, JT offered to sell the sites to J-Lo for $85,000. But her
lawyers took JT to a United Nations commission on intellectual property rights.
They accused the super fan of profiting from the superstar; something he said
just isn't true. "I feel hurt as a fan," he
said. "I made enough money to cover costs of development,
but not much money at all."J-Lo
wants to use the sites for a charitable foundation. JT can't fault her for that
and said both sides could've prevented the costly legal battle if Lopez herself had just asked for them. In spite of
it all, JT said he's still a Jennifer Lopez fan and hopes to one day smooth
things out in person. This can go either way. JT also created a Saturday Night
Live fan page. NBC saw it and loved it and hired him to develop websites.

Jennifer Lopez, who already owns homes on both Long Island and Star Island in Miami, just checked out suites at the Icon Brickell property, home to the Viceroy Miami. The glam hotel's property developer, Jorge Perez, gave J.Lo and hubby Marc Anthony a personal tour of the recently opened towers in Miami's up-and-coming downtown district. Jennifer Lopez evicts cybersquatters
American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez has won a cybersquatting case against a U.S. web operator who registered two internet addresses that used her name for commercial profit, a U.N. agency said.
The disputed domain names, jenniferlopez.net and jenniferlopez.org, directed users to a website that generated paid advertising revenues, according to the ruling issued by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
An independent arbitrator ordered the domain names transferred within 10 days to the Jennifer Lopez Foundation, which filed the complaint. The charitable foundation promotes better access to healthcare for women and children.
The Grammy-nominated singer, widely known as J.Lo, joins other celebrities in ousting cybersquatters through the dispute procedure, including Pierce Brosnan, Tom Cruise, Celine Dion, Scarlett Johansson, Nicole Kidman, Madonna and Julia Roberts.Lopez, who is from the South Bronx, registered her name as a trademark in the United States in May 1999 and has sold more than 48 million albums worldwide, according to her complaint.
A man based in Phoenix, Arizona, named as Jeremiah Tieman, registered both domain names and asserted that he ran primarily a fan site devoted to providing news and information about the star, according to the arbitrator, Williams Towns.
Tieman "registered two domain names that are identical to the complainant's mark and has used those domain names to attract Internet users to a website from which (he) generates pay-per-click advertising," Towns said in his ruling.
The American arbitrator found that the registration had been for commercial use and was in bad faith.
Lopez, 39, and her husband, salsa singer Marc Anthony, had twins in February. It is her third marriage. The couple starred together in "El Cantante," a 2006 film about salsa legend Hector Lavoe
